Strange

Meow, Meow, Meow, Meowwwww, Meow, Meow, Meow, Meow - A random cat I found at the top of my stairs on my way in last Saturday night, (that I later found out my roommate drunkenly let into our house and forgot to bring back outside.) Also, on occasion, my roommate when she decides to sing "All By Myself" to me, in cat language.

Boom - My microwave when I cook something for too long. Also, something my friend Crystal uses at the end of her sentences to get her point across, or just to make people laugh, I'm still not sure.

Merrrrrrrr - The elevator as it closes if you've held the door open for too long. Also, something my friend Kelsey uses after almost every word she says, especially when she’s frustrated or upset, or trying (and failing,) to be funny.

Womp - When someone smacks someone else over the head with a newspaper or other paper product, (rolls of paper towels work too.) Also, an expression my friend Norah uses when something sucks.

  1. I like the sound effects. I really like how you compare the sounds of nature-i.e. the elevator, cat, smacking a newspaper over someone's head, and microwave sounds with the sounds your friend's make. A nice correlation between the mostly inanimate/animals and the living.

  2. This is a neat and original way to define words, and the only fitting way for a sound I assume. I think more examples, and less repetition in the examples would be a good thing to explore. For instance, I don't know Nora or Kelsey so I can't hear their sounds, but I can hear the someone smacking another person with a newspaper.

  3. This was really interesting and kept my attention (even though it was really short). I think you should maybe change the format to dictionary entries, with pronunciations in phonetics, because some of them I couldn't really imagine. Also, specific examples of times your friends have used these sounds would be helpful and probably entertaining.
